Internal Employee
If a DBS check has been completed within the last three years and has been recorded on the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) for an internal employee, another DBS check is not required as long as the employee is applying for a position within the same organisation, where the same or lower type and level of check is required.
External candidate
HR Shared Services (HRSS) will not accept a certificate obtained prior to the candidate joining the organisation; this includes certificates obtained through the DBS update service. A new DBS check will be conducted should this be required for the role.
