Where can I find out if Qualifications are required for the role?

If qualifications are required for a role it will be stated in the Person Specification (PS) within the qualifications section.

The PS can be found in the 'Documents' section of the Trac vacancy.

Please be aware that it may be part of the 'Job Description' (JD) document.


Qualifications stated as essential criteria

Where qualifications are stated as essential criteria, HR Shared Services (HRSS) will request copies of the relevant qualification via the Amiqus Digital pre-employment checking (DPEC) system during the pre-employment checking stage of a recruitment.


Qualifications stated as desirable criteria

If qualifications are set as ‘desirable’ criteria, no qualifications will be requested as part of the pre-employment checking stage.


Accepting equivalent experience

Equivalent experience can only be accepted if it’s stated within the qualifications section of the PS. This can be requested by the RM or their Delegate, Lead Interviewer (LI) or the Lead Shortlister (LS).

Should the RM want to accept experience where it is not stated on the PS, they would need to provide written confirmation from the NHS England (NHSE) Human Resources and Organisation Development (HR and OD) team.


Waiving Qualifications

To waive qualifications that are stated as essential criteria, the RM, Delegate, LS or LI would need to provide written approval from the NHSE HR and OD team.

Approval should be forwarded to the HR Shared Services Query team.
