In order to bring back the most relevant results make your searches specific as broader search terms are less likely to bring back information on the topic you have searched for.
- Example: If you wanted to know if a candidate could update their personal details on Trac, searching ‘can a candidate update their details on Trac’ this would bring back the relevant article, but searching ‘Trac’ would not.
If the search did not bring back a relevant result, try amending the search terms slightly and searching again.
If you are still unable to find a relevant result, we would advise browsing the categories.
Browsing Related Categories
An alternative to using the search bar is to browse through the related categories. Categories are used to group topics of information together.
- Example: If you’re a Recruiting Manager (RM) wanting to know further information about references, you would firstly select the 'Recruitment and Selection' category as references are requested as part of a recruitment. You would then select ‘Pre-employment checks’ as it is during this stage of the recruitment and selection process that references are requested. Finally, you would select 'References', this will then present you with a list of articles that cover the reference process.
Location: Recruitment and Selection >> Pre-employment checks >> References. - Example: If you wanted to view the NHS Agenda for Change pay scales, you would select the ‘Pay’ category.
