How are at-risk applicants identified in Trac?

NHS England (NHSE) employees who are at-risk of redeployment are added to the Redeployment pool within Trac which creates a redeployment record for the employees. When an employee with a redeployment record in Trac applies for an NHSE vacancy, they can be identified by a 'R' symbol next to their application number.

Applicants who are not in the Trac redeployment pool can self-declare that their current post is at-risk on their application, and these applicants can be identified by a 'R?' symbol next to their application number.

The ‘R’ and ‘R?’ symbols will become visible by the Lead Shortlister when the vacancy and applicants have progressed into the Shortlisting:Evaluate stage.

What is the difference between the ‘R’ and ‘R?’ symbols visible in Trac?

Applicants that have the ‘R’ symbol next to their application number in Trac are confirmed as being at-risk as they have been added to the Redeployment pool in Trac.

If an applicant has not been added to the Redeployment pool in Trac, or they have applied with a different email address to the one on their Redeployment pool record, they are not confirmed as being at-risk and will have the ‘R?’ symbol next to their application number.

Applications are identified by email address, therefore if the email address on the applicants record in the Redeployment pool is different to the email address they use to apply for the vacancy, they will not appear with the ‘R’

How are at-risk applicants added to the Trac Redeployment pool?

The NHSE HR and OD Team will submit a CSV file (spread sheet) containing the information of the employees considered to be at-risk to the HR Shared Services (HRSS) Query team (nhse@nhsbsa.nhs.uk).

The email subject must be 'AT-RISK REQUEST', this will ensure the email is prioritised to be processed.

The Query team upload the file to the Trac Redeployment pool which creates a redeployment record for each employee.

Are at-risk applicants guaranteed an interview?

If applicants have been identified as at-risk and they meet the minimum criteria they must be invited to interview.

Where at-risk applicants are found to be unsuitable at interview they can be rejected. Candidate's must be suitable for the role and meet the minimum criteria for the post to be successful in recruitment.
