If an apprenticeship is extended and all study arrangements remain the same, a new contract of employment is not required. The Line Manager for the apprentice can extend the fixed term contract via Manager Self Service (MSS) within the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). Further information on making changes via MSS can be found on the Hub.

The end date of the agreement will be updated in the ESR and a subsequent addendum letter will be issued to confirm the new end date and any change to the rate of pay
