Job evaluation is undertaken in partnership with staff side representatives and all parties involved are trained in job evaluation.

New posts are subject to an evaluation carried out by the HR Shared Services (HRSS) Advisory Team before they can go to advert. This evaluation is carried out by a Matching Panel that consists of both management and staff side representatives.

Embedded or existing posts that are occupied also require a job evaluation panel to consider the knowledge, skills, responsibilities, demands and environment associated with a post. This would be submitted either by a Manager who has made a change to the Job Description (JD) or an employee who queries the responibilities/banding of their role.
