When you are set up as an employee in Electronic Staff Record (ESR), you will receive instructions via email from HR Shared Services (HRSS) detailing how to access ESR.
You should access ESR using Microsoft Edge. Using Chrome may not give you the full access required in ESR.
ESR can be accessed from any device connected to the national broadband network (N3) used by NHS organisations in England or you can also access ESR using the internet.
The N3 network is used to access ESR using devices at your place of work. To enable access from outside of the N3 network you must first request internet access; this can only be requested when you are logged into ESR on a device with N3 connectivity.
When you are logged into ESR Employee Self Service (ESS) click Request Internet Access from the menu. Once your request has been submitted your ESR record will automatically update to show you have remote access.
If you are not able to access your ESR, please email the HR Shared Services (HRSS) Query Team and they will be able to re-activate your account or reset your password to allow you to access the system.
